About the Role
The Principal Specialist: IT Internal Audit role is a senior position responsible for leading cyber security and technology risk audits across the organisation. The role supports the internal audit team by assessing technology risks and strengthening cyber security governance within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cyber security audits across technology environments
- Plan, execute, and report on cyber security audit engagements
- Identify audit findings and improvement recommendations
- Conduct technical audits covering 5G, cloud computing, IoT, and blockchain technologies
- Act as a cyber security subject matter expert within the internal audit team
- Use data analytics tools to strengthen audit insights
- Monitor progress of audit remediation actions
- Maintain strong relationships with senior technology stakeholders
Requirements
- Relevant IT degree such as:
- BSc Computer Science
- BCom Informatics
- BCom Information Systems
- Cyber security certifications such as:
- CISA
- CISSP
- CISM
- CRISC
- SSCP
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Knowledge of ISO27001 cyber security framework
- Minimum 3 years cyber security experience
- Experience in internal or external audit functions (advantageous)
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools such as Qualys or Nessus
- Understanding of network security, encryption, and web security
- Experience with data analytics tools such as PowerBI, QlikSense, or SQL
