Job Overview
- Provide administrative and secretarial support in the ICU ward
- Coordinate ward activities and ensure smooth daily operations
- Support nurses, doctors, and patients with administrative tasks
- Deliver excellent patient and visitor service
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Coordination
- Manage ward administration and documentation
- Assist Unit Manager and ward staff with daily duties
- Capture data and maintain records (e.g. SAP, patient statistics)
- Take minutes in meetings and maintain staff records
Patient & Visitor Support
- Welcome patients, visitors, and doctors
- Handle telephone calls professionally and take messages
- Ensure patient boards and information are updated
- Conduct daily rounds and ensure patient satisfaction
Ward Operations
- Assist with bed bookings and patient transfers
- Coordinate communication between departments (ICU, theatre, wards)
- Ensure families are informed of patient transfers
Stock & General Duties
- Monitor and assist with stock control
- Maintain cleanliness of reception and nurse stations
- Manage linen control and delivery of items (e.g. flowers)
- Log and follow up on maintenance/job cards
