JOB OVERVIEW
Engineering learnership opportunity at South Deep Gold Mine for aspiring Millwrights from host communities. The programme provides structured workplace-based training combined with external technical learning to develop qualified artisans in the electrical and mechanical engineering field.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- N3 qualification with 4 subjects:
- Engineering Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant Trade Theory
- Engineering Drawing (Mechanical trades) or Industrial Electronics
- Millwright applicants must have:
- 2 trade theory subjects at N3 level (Electrical & Fitting) + 3 other subjects
- Must be medically fit for mining environment (including heat tolerance screening)
- Must reside in approved host communities
- All certified documents must be attached
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in structured technical training and learnership programme
- Attend workplace and external training sessions
- Follow all mine safety rules and regulations
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Maintain consistent performance and development progress
- Participate in feedback and development discussions
- Work effectively as part of a team
