Role Overview
This role focuses on supporting and coordinating Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance across operational sites. You will help ensure that safety standards, legal requirements, and internal policies are followed to reduce risks and prevent workplace incidents.
You’ll work closely with the HSE Officer and operational teams in the field.
Key Responsibilities
🦺 Health & Safety Compliance
- Support management on all HSE matters
- Ensure compliance with South African OHS legislation
- Track regulatory changes affecting the business
- Ensure safety procedures and policies are followed
🔍 Inspections & Risk Management
- Conduct site inspections and safety audits
- Perform incident and accident investigations
- Identify workplace risks and implement controls
- Ensure risk assessments are completed for all sites
📊 Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate HSE records and reports
- Manage safety documentation and compliance files
- Ensure proper completion of risk assessment paperwork
- Report findings from audits and investigations
🎓 Training & Awareness
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety training
- Ensure employees understand HSE requirements
- Promote a strong safety culture across teams
- Follow up on corrective actions and compliance gaps
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification or certification
- Strong knowledge of South African OHS legislation
- First Aid certification
- Proven experience in Health & Safety roles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
