Job Overview
AkzoNobel is seeking a Local IT Officer (LITO) to act as the main IT support contact for local operations. This role bridges global IT teams and local business sites, ensuring smooth and secure IT and Operational Technology (OT) operations across manufacturing plants, warehouses, offices, and R&D environments.
The role places strong emphasis on OT systems used in industrial and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Local IT & Business Support
- Act as the main liaison between global IT and local business operations
- Understand and support local IT and OT requirements across multiple sites
- Communicate IT updates, changes, and projects to local stakeholders
- Support hardware delivery, tracking, and disposal processes
Operational Technology (OT) Support
- Serve as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for OT-related issues
- Maintain OT documentation including:
- Network diagrams
- OT asset inventory
- IP address databases
- Monitor OT systems and provide urgent support for critical issues
- Raise and escalate OT change requests
- Conduct OT cybersecurity self-assessments and audits
Incident & Service Management
- Monitor incidents and service requests using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Track SLA performance and escalate overdue tickets
- Provide incident reports and trend analysis
Project Coordination
- Support IT and OT infrastructure projects at site level
- Assist with rollout of global IT initiatives
- Train and support users during system changes
- Drive adoption of new technologies
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Ensure OT systems comply with cybersecurity standards
- Collaborate with global cybersecurity teams
- Maintain SLA and compliance reporting
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- Experience in IT operations or support
- Exposure to manufacturing environments is highly advantageous
- Understanding of OT systems and industrial IT environments
Skills
- IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, especially OT security
