Job Overview
Confluent is seeking a Junior IT Technician to join its IT Operations team in Cape Town. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance within a professional corporate environment.
You will work closely with experienced IT professionals to ensure systems remain secure, efficient, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Assist with setup, configuration, and deployment of IT equipment (laptops, printers, etc.)
- Monitor and maintain internal IT systems for optimal performance
- Manage and resolve support tickets within SLA timeframes
- Support IT projects including upgrades and system migrations
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and configurations
- Collaborate with the IT team to improve processes and procedures
- Stay updated with emerging IT trends and technologies
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- At least 1 year of experience in IT support or a technician role
- Basic knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and operating systems
- Familiarity with helpdesk systems and remote support tools
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Understanding of IT security best practices
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant IT certifications (advantageous):
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft certifications
