Job Summary
VKB Milling, part of the VKB Group’s agri-processing division, operates maize and wheat milling facilities across South Africa. The Painter position is based at the Mokopane Mill and focuses on surface preparation and painting work to maintain and improve the condition of the facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paints, coatings, and finishes while ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety compliance, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks or holes
- Apply paint, primers, varnishes, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Mix and match paint colours as required
- Protect furniture, equipment, and floors before painting
- Ensure neat, accurate, and timely completion of all painting tasks
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintain painting tools and equipment in good condition
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Relevant painting experience or training
- Proven experience as a painter
- Knowledge of painting techniques and materials
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail
