Job Summary

The Driver Trainer role is responsible for assessing, training, and developing company drivers and van assistants to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant driving practices. The position focuses on improving driver performance, reducing risk, and enforcing safety procedures across the Inland South operations.

The role includes driver assessments, defensive driving training, vehicle safety training, and ongoing monitoring of driver behaviour and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and screen new drivers in Inland South
  • Train and onboard new drivers
  • Upskill and certify van assistants
  • Conduct assessments of high-risk and existing drivers
  • Deliver defensive and anti-hijack training
  • Train drivers on new vehicles, including CNG and electric vehicles
  • Monitor speeding and driver behaviour reports
  • Conduct ongoing driver development training
  • Implement driver and vehicle safety procedures
  • Manage driver documentation and records
  • Conduct accident investigations

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Valid Code 14 driver’s licence with PDP
  • TETA accreditation
  • 3–5 years experience in driver training and assessment
  • 2–3 years experience in driver and vehicle safety
  • Experience in accident investigations and employee relations
  • Strong administrative and data capturing skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and report writing
  • Minimum 5 years holding a valid Code 14 licence
